Súra 89 Al-Fajr (The Dawn), ájet 6 – 14

1. أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ

   Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad -

   89:6

2. إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ

   (With) Iram - who had lofty pillars,

   89:7

3. الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ

   The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

   89:8

4. وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ

   And (with) Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

   89:9

5. وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ

   And (with) Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? -

   89:10

6. الَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِي الْبِلَادِ

   (All of) whom oppressed within the lands

   89:11

7. فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا الْفَسَادَ

   And increased therein the corruption.

   89:12

8. فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ

   So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

   89:13

9. إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِ

   Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

   89:14
